Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Ambulatory Medical Device Reprocessing Specialist (MDRS), provides operational improvement support to the UCLA Health Ambulatory Services by functioning, as necessary, as a high-level disinfection and sterilization educator, facilitator, consultant, and analyst. The MDRS designs and facilitates improvement efforts by incorporating best practices based on evidence, and by analyzing various accumulations of data to assist ambulatory management at each clinical site with information pertaining to instrumentation and equipment decisions related to both the operating and capital budgets. You will demonstrate the ability to analyze, design and communicate complex issues related to high level disinfection and sterilization including standardized processes, logistics, identify regulatory deficiencies and develop solutions for compliance.

Salary Range: $74,437 - $152,465/annually


Job Qualifications

We’re seeking a deadline-driven, detail-oriented clinical leader with:

  • Current Central Service Certification or Scrub Technician background and/or equivalent experience and training.
  • Experience in Sterile Processing with a proven track record in sterile processing clinical operations, clinical programs development, planning, and process improvement.
  • Computer and data entry skills required: knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Knowledgeable of healthcare regulations for infection prevention & control.
  • Basic understanding of Quality Management and Performance Improvement programs.
  • Excellent customer service and time management skills.
  • Team player and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
