100 - 835800 TG - Gulf Coast Surgical CenterThe Billing Collections Specialist maintains the revenue cycle workflow including posting electronic and paper remittances, reviewing and correcting clearinghouse errors, responding to phone calls from patients regarding balances, posting charges as needed, reviewing unpaid claims and resolving issues with insurance companies, reviewing overdue accounts and sending to collection as needed, creating and preparing documentation for refunds to insurance companies and patients.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred
2. Experience in medical billing preferred, but experience can substitute. Minimum of one year of accounts receivable experience in a hospital setting preferred.
3. Knowledge of computers with experience in Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office preferred. Proficient in medical terminology. Must be detail oriented.
