Deaconess Health System is seeking an Application Analyst I – Ambulatory Applications to join our Digital Technology Services (DTS) team. In this role, you will support, configure, and optimize ambulatory and outpatient clinical applications used across physician practices, clinics, and outpatient care settings.

This is an excellent opportunity for a healthcare IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting, workflow analysis, and partnering closely with providers and clinic staff to improve system performance and patient care. You will serve as a trusted resource and Subject Matter Expert for assigned ambulatory systems while contributing to new development, optimization, and enterprise initiatives.

  • Provide escalation support, configuration, and maintenance for ambulatory clinical applications
  • Partner with outpatient clinical, operational, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate needs into technical solutions
  • Support physician practices, ambulatory clinics, and related workflows
  • Build and maintain reports, scripts, automation, and system enhancements
  • Support testing, upgrades, integrations, and optimization initiatives
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned ambulatory systems
  • Participate in projects and continuous improvement efforts to enhance outpatient workflow efficiency and system reliability

What You Will Do

  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated ambulatory application issues
  • Perform discovery sessions and workflow analysis with providers, clinic staff, and operational leaders
  • Build and configure screens, templates, workflows, reports, queries, and automation tools
  • Support system maintenance, upgrades, and performance tuning
  • Collaborate with other DTS teams on interfaces, integrations, and data exchange
  • Create and maintain technical, workflow, and support documentation
  • Follow change management, build, and production control processes
  • Provide user training and ongoing support for ambulatory users
  • Develop deep expertise in assigned ambulatory systems and proactively recommend improvements

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in CIS, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of healthcare or enterprise application support experience, preferably in ambulatory or outpatient environments
  • Experience supporting clinical ambulatory applications and physician workflows
  • Strong understanding of outpatient workflows such as scheduling, documentation, orders, referrals, and billing
  • Experience with SQL queries, reporting tools, and data analysis
  • Familiarity with interfaces, integrations, system testing, and upgrades
  • Strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced healthcare environment
