Ambulance Inventory Technician, Casual(261039)

Purpose of this position: Cleans and stocks all vehicles and associated equipment and supplies. Ensures it is correctly placed, ready to use, and functioning properly.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow Department procedures to prepare vehicles for service by ensuring all equipment and supplies are in place and ready to use
  • Maintain department standards for productivity, accuracy, and quality
  • Ensure proper stocking of all equipment by following established guidelines and procedures. This includes ensuring the correct items are in place, current and functioning properly
  • Clean and disinfect vehicles and equipment for service
  • Follow department procedures for cleaning vehicles and equipment. Including inside and outside of vehicles, equipment and bags. This also includes following Deep Cleaning process and OSHA process for cleaning and disinfecting vehicles
  • Prepare all equipment and supplies for use by caregivers by ensuring they are properly stocked and disinfected, this includes verifying all items are in place and functioning properly
  • Keep work area and garage clean and organized
  • Work cooperatively with other EMS Staff, care providers, Ops Staff and mechanics
  • Plan workday to share tasks and works collaboratively with coworkers. Overcome equipment and vehicle challenges by finding solutions to issues as they arise and demands change with operations staff and mechanics
  • If equipment is not ready for service, takes it out of service and follows procedures to start repairs
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or state equivalent and must have a satisfactory driving record including no more than two moving violations in the past three years of licensure

  • An approved equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working in or around medical equipment and/or emergency vehicles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EMR or EMT

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Ability to work in an environment where demands change rapidly, detail orientated, ability to handle multiple, varied tasks daily
