About the Role:

We are seeking a mission-driven development finance professional to design, strengthen, and scale inclusive financial ecosystems for underserved and Bottom of the Pyramid (BoP) communities in India.

The role requires a blend of financial expertise, systems thinking, and on-ground development experience to create scalable and sustainable solutions that improve access to financial services such as credit, savings, insurance, pensions, and digital finance—especially for women-led and rural communities.

The candidate will also play a key role in convening and aligning ecosystem stakeholders including financial institutions, government bodies, fintechs, NGOs, and community-based organizations to enable last-mile financial inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Design & Implementation

  • Design and implement inclusive finance programs across credit, savings, insurance, pensions, and digital financial services
  • Develop scalable delivery models such as BC networks, women-led financial service channels, and livelihood-linked financial products
  • Pilot innovative solutions and support their scale-up through evidence-based learning and impact assessment

2. Financial Product & Ecosystem Strengthening

  • Co-create customer-centric financial products with banks, NBFCs, MFIs, and fintech partners
  • Design capacity-building programs for field teams, community institutions, and last-mile financial agents
  • Strengthen business models for sustainable last-mile delivery systems (e.g., BC agents, SHG-linked models, women-led enterprises)
  • Integrate financial services with non-financial interventions such as digital literacy, livelihood support, agri-advisory, and market linkages

3. Ecosystem Building & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Identify, map, and engage ecosystem stakeholders including financial institutions, government departments, regulators, impact investors, fintechs, SHG federations, and community institutions
  • Build and manage multi-stakeholder partnerships to strengthen financial inclusion at scale
  • Facilitate convergence between public and private sector programs
  • Support technology and API-based integrations with partner systems where relevant

4. Data, Insights & Performance Management

  • Analyze financial and operational data to evaluate program effectiveness and identify improvement areas
  • Design and maintain dashboards, MIS systems, and impact measurement frameworks
  • Generate actionable insights to support strategic decision-making and program optimization

5. Policy & Systems Strengthening

  • Engage with government stakeholders to influence financial inclusion policies and schemes
  • Support integration with national and state-level programs (e.g., rural livelihood missions and digital finance initiatives)
  • Contribute to thought leadership through reports, whitepapers, and ecosystem knowledge products

Key Deliverables:

  • Improved access, usage, and quality of financial services for underserved communities
  • Scalable and sustainable last-mile financial delivery models
  • High-quality strategic reports, policy briefs, and knowledge products
  • Actionable ecosystem strategies based on field insights and data analysis
  • Strengthened convergence across public, private, and development sector actors
  • Identification of emerging opportunities in digital finance, embedded finance, gender-intentional finance, climate finance, MSME finance, and AI-enabled financial services

Ideal Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Development Studies, Economics, Public Policy, Rural Management, or a related field; MBA (Finance/Strategy) or equivalent preferred
  • 3–12 years of experience in the development sector, financial inclusion, or ecosystem development roles
  • Experience in multi-stakeholder program management and partnership building
  • Exposure to government-led programs such as rural livelihood missions and financial inclusion schemes is an advantage
  • Experience in digital finance, agri-finance, women-led enterprises, or inclusive livelihood programs is preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial products including credit, savings, insurance, pensions, and digital financial services
  • Knowledge of rural and BoP ecosystems, SHG networks, and community-based financial institutions
  • Financial modeling and business case development capabilities
  • Proficiency in Excel, MIS systems, dashboards, and data analysis tools
  • Strong stakeholder management and partnership-building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, field-based, and ambiguous environments

Preferred Profile:

  • Experience with SHG ecosystems, women-led enterprises, or rural financial inclusion programs
  • Exposure to impact investment, banking, consulting, or development organizations
  • Familiarity with digital public infrastructure (UPI, Aadhaar, DBT, etc.)
  • Experience scaling pilots into large-scale, sustainable programs
