We have a well-established global Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) team, which supports the firm on a wide range of business development, client relationship management and reputational activities. The team is divided into several key areas including Operations and Systems, Practice and Sector M&BD, Client Development, Pitches and Pursuits and Corporate Communications, which comprises Public Relations, Brand, Design, Events, and Digital.
Working Hours
35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm but additional hours may be required. We are happy to consider agile and flexible working patterns. Our approach to hybrid working allows for up to 40% of time working from home and 60% working in the office, please contact a member of the recruitment team to discuss further.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Alumni Manager to join our global team. The Alumni Manager will work with our Director of Alumni Relations (based in New York), and will be responsible for helping to shape and implement strategies to engage and maintain relationships with our alumni network. This will have a particular focus on our London and broader EMEA market, working closely with the M&BD teams in those offices to drive consistency, efficiency and innovation in our program.
This role requires a ‘hands-on’ and proactive individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, who can effectively manage alumni programs, client development initiatives, comms campaigns, brand and events.
Key Responsibilities
Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location or services. All members of the firm participate in our Responsible Business program.
Support a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy across the globe, with particular focus on key offices in our EMEA network.
Reinvigorate our alumni program in EMEA, creating a consistent experience across the region.
Manage and promote our alumni brand and alumni community benefits – foster a sense of community and connection among alumni through various engagement activities.
Promote our new alumni opt-in process to support the maintenance of our alumni database, ensuring contact data is accurate and up-to-date.
Oversee EMEA alumni data management, identifying data gaps and opportunities for enhancement, recommending process improvements, and partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, actionable alumni information that supports engagement and business development objectives.
Serve as the primary EMEA lead for the Alumni Network website, overseeing content strategy and maintenance, driving alumni registration and engagement, identifying opportunities to enhance the user experience, and to increase platform adoption and support broader alumni relations objectives.
Working in synergy with the global plan, create a comms plan for our EMEA region and lead on regular alumni communications, such as newsletters, emails, and social media updates.
Help manage and grow the firm's digital presence particularly via LinkedIn and the website.
Develop and implement LinkedIn campaigns to engage alumni and promote firm initiatives, create alumni interactions and respond to social media activity.
Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for alumni involvement in firm initiatives across EMEA.
Work with key EMEA offices, practices and sectors to help plan, coordinate and promote alumni events and to engage the community in other knowledge and networking events.
Drive direct engagement with our alumni to provide support and resources, e.g. career development and networking opportunities.
Work with the Client Account Managers in EMEA to create engagement plans with a target group of alumni at our key clients.
Skills & Experience
Qualifications & Training
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in M&BD, ideally with experience of alumni relations and leading campaigns.
Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is a plus.
General Attributes
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
Proficiency in using CRM systems and other relevant software.
Experience in managing social media accounts and creating engaging content.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
