Job Description

Kaiser Aluminum Fabricated Products LLC is a highly automated, Best-In-Class aluminum casting and extrusion facility looking for safety conscious, team oriented, hardworking people who are interested in being a part of our continuous learning environment. Kaiser features an industry leading clean, safe working environment. Kaiser is a Veteran Friendly Employer. We are seeking candidates to join us as Remelt Operators at our Los Angeles plant.

Purpose of Position: Follows all Job Safe practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and Quality requirements while operating equipment in the aluminum casting operation necessary for the casting of aluminum.

Pay rate: $25.12 to $28.56 per hour!

Shift schedule: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM and 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM

What you will bring to the role:

  • Complies with all 5 core/5 life requirements and Job Safe Practices (JSP's)
  • Reviews and follows all Standard Operating procedures for processes.
  • Ensures that quality objectives are met.
  • Operates casting equipment and Homogenizing Furnace
  • Reports and reviews any unusual conditions with the Leader, Supervisor, Quality Representative or other appropriate person.
  • Maintains department 5S condition
  • Completes Preventative Maintenance on mobile equipment such as lubing
  • Operates mobile equipment large 25000 pound capacity forklift
  • Operates mobile equipment large Caterpillar 930 and Volvo L90 front end bucket loaders
  • Calculate hardener additions to be added to melter
  • Operate overhead 10ton cranes
  • Completes all required paperwork as required
  • Required to wear supplied fire retardant specialized clothing
  • Reports to Remelt Manager
  • Interacts daily with other team members and representatives of other departments

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid math skills.
  • Experience operating industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment and problem solving activities.
  • Ability to operate forklift, frontend loader, and other mobile equipment.
  • Awareness of current safety/health policies and Job Safe Practices.
  • Ensures that all work orders are carried out adhering to safety and 5S expectations to completion.
  • Promotes safe work practices within the department.
  • Adheres to standard work, maintains all required quality documentation and quality checks in order to meet customer requirements.
