Pizza, one of the world’s most wonderful inventions and dare we say it perhaps more important than sliced bread itself! A great pizza is a world marvel that requires passion, knowledge, and expertise. Our Artisan Pizza Cook must be able to produce an authentic Italian pizza with a high level of consistency while keeping up with the fast pace of our service. The Artisan Pizza Cook is responsible for the preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. They must be prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment, while maintaining the organizational ability to identify and act on job duties quickly and effectively. They must be prepared to work as a team member in a dynamic workplace and follow all safety procedures.
Essential Functions:
• Set up station according to restaurant guidelines.
• Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
• Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
• Ensure that the correct quantities are prepared to meet daily needs.
• Always stay productive and prepare for future needs as time allows.
• Follow proper reporting procedures for accidents and incidents to ensure follow-up and prevention.
• Adhere to all regulations including blood borne pathogens, infection control, use of hazardous materials and fire safety.
Experience/Requirements:
• 2+ years working in a progressive experience in the Kitchen a strong asset.
• Experience in working in some stations of a multiple outlet operation.
• Pizzaiolo experience and experience in pizza dough making a definite asset.
• Basic knowledge of the operation of Catering/Conventions
• Great people skills, fun, energetic, outgoing.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication skills
