Job title: Alternatives Product Delivery Manager
The role is to support the delivery of new products and product management projects for HSBC Asset Management Alternatives business, covering all Alternatives strategies both direct and indirect, including but not limited to: Real Estate, Private Markets, Private Debt, Venture Capital and Hedge Funds.
In this role, you will:
Impact on Business
- Work with the Product Development and Management teams to deliver new Alternative products and product management projects in an efficient and timely manner.
- Provide ownership for the project and be responsible for the delivery of key Alternative initiatives.
- Responsible for creating project timelines and critical deliverables and ensuring that all parties meet the agreed deadlines.
- Responsible for the mechanics of the product launch process.
- Seek efficiencies in the process in order to improve the timeliness of delivery.
- Present and facilitate review and approval of new products with the Board.
- Establish global best practice for product delivery from a technical and governance perspective.
- Help increase local expertise in the delivery of Alternative products.

Role Context
- The role of Alternatives Product Delivery Manager is to support delivery of business critical growth of the Alternatives business so that each project meets:
- AMG exacting standards and the HSBC brand; and
- Client and market needs and expectations.
Role Dimensions
- Alternative Investment structures supporting a global client base.
- Alternative Investment structures organized as corporates, partnerships and contractual vehicles.
- Investment Strategies: All Alternatives strategies with primary focus on indirect strategies, including but not limited to: Real Estate, Private Markets, Private Debt, Infrastructure and Hedge Fund of Funds
Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements)
- Ensure that new products, product features and associated documentation meet our FIM standards.
- Awareness of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and act in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.
Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements)
- Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
- Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
- Understand the Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles, HSBC Asset Management’s TCF philosophy and how this affects your role. Act in a manner that takes account of these principles to ensure fair outcomes for customers.
To be successful you will:
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications (For the role – not the role holder)
- Ability to demonstrate significant previous project management and product delivery experience at an established asset manager.
- Specific knowledge of the Alternatives space would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with the ESG regulatory landscape and some understanding of sustainability risk would be advantageous.
- Self-starter, who takes ownership, works with minimal supervision and can deliver the right solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, an ability to communicate with impact.
- Ability to build on cross border relationships with various stakeholders and use skills gained from working in different jurisdictions.
- Ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple complex initiatives (at different levels of granularity).
- Independent thinker who has an enquiring mindset.
- Drive, energy and eager to progress in the role.

- Proficient at using monday.com
- Professional project management qualification (or a willingness to study for one) preferable i.e., PRINCE2
- Under the Company's internal 'Back to Front'/’Front to Back’ transfer policy this role may be classed as High Risk. As a result, internal candidates may require enhanced approvals and vetting checks if they are currently employed in a Front Office department, or if they have worked in a Front Office department within the last 5 years (please refer to the HR FIM definition for further guidance). The enhanced approvals and vetting would need to be completed before the candidate will be confirmed in the role.
