The role requires strong client management skills, deep knowledge of investment operations of private markets, and the ability to drive strategic initiatives that enhance efficiency, control, and client experience.

Why This Role Is Important to Us

Our asset owner clients entrust us with the critical responsibility of managing the operational backbone that supports their investment portfolios. This role is central to ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and transparency of key services—such as document management, cash processing, valuation, and performance reporting—that directly impact client confidence and investment decision-making.

As an AVP in AOPM, you will:

  • Safeguard the integrity of our clients’ investment operations by overseeing processes that ensure data accuracy, control, and compliance.

  • Strengthen client relationships by acting as a trusted partner who anticipates needs and resolves issues proactively.

  • Drive efficiency and innovation, shaping how we scale and evolve our services for asset owner clients across diverse asset classes.

  • Play a pivotal role in developing talent and building the next generation of operational leaders within our team.

In short, this role is vital in balancing daily operational excellence with long-term business growth and client trust.

What you will be responsible for:

Client & Service Management

  • Act as a primary escalation point for asset owner clients, addressing issues across document management, cash processing, valuation services, and performance reporting.

  • Oversee timely and accurate delivery of core services (e.g., receipt and processing of capital statements, financial statements, and cash notices from GPs/fund managers).

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and external partners (custodians, fund managers, auditors).

Operational Leadership

Lead a team responsible for AOPM service delivery, ensuring adherence to SLAs and high-quality standards.

  • Monitor daily operations across multiple products including private equity, private credit, and other alternative investments, ensuring effective risk and control frameworks are applied.

  • Implement process improvements, automation, and standardization to increase efficiency and reduce operational risks.

People Management

Coach, mentor, and develop team members to strengthen capabilities and retain talent.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Manage resource planning and capacity to balance business-as-usual (BAU) delivery with strategic projects.

Business Development & Strategy

Support business growth by identifying opportunities to expand AOPM service offerings and improve the client experience.

  • Partner with senior leadership to shape long-term strategy, balancing short-term operational excellence with long-term development goals.

  • Contribute to new client onboarding, due diligence, and RFP support as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, CAIA) preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience in investment operations, fund administration, or asset owner services, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of private markets (PE, VC, private credit, infrastructure, real estate) and traditional asset classes.

  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver against complex service requirements.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across senior levels.

Key Competencies

  • Leadership & People Management – ability to inspire, coach, and retain high-performing teams.

  • Client-Centric Mindset – proactive approach to anticipating client needs and delivering exceptional service.

  • Change Leadership – ability to drive transformation, implement process improvements, and manage change effectively.

  • Resilience & Agility – thrives in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
