Job Description

Alpha Data Services is seeking an experienced Product Dependency Lead to establish and operate the Product Dependency Management capability across strategic programmes and support the function’s transition towards an AI-enabled operating model.

Reporting to the ADS Product Delivery Lead, the role will provide day-to-day leadership of dependency governance and create an integrated view of product commitments, sequencing and delivery constraints. Working across Product, Delivery, Technology, Operations and client-facing teams, the successful candidate will support timely decisions, clear accountability and predictable client outcomes.

This role combines structured governance, cross-functional coordination and data-led insight to strengthen delivery confidence and improve how dependencies are assessed, managed and resolved.

Responsibilities

Capability, Governance and AI Enablement

  • Partner with the ADS Product Delivery Lead to establish, embed and continuously improve the Product Dependency Management capability.
  • Lead the day-to-day operation of dependency governance across strategic programmes, ensuring consistent processes, controls and decision-making.
  • Champion the transition to an AI-first operating model by identifying, prioritising and embedding responsible AI use cases across dependency management workflows.

Dependency Assessment and Planning

  • Assess programme scope and delivery plans to identify cross-product, technology, operational and implementation dependencies at the earliest opportunity.
  • Use AI-assisted analysis to identify emerging dependencies, delivery conflicts, patterns and risks across programme plans, roadmaps and governance data, with appropriate human review and oversight.
  • Maintain an integrated view of product roadmaps, milestones, sequencing and client outcomes, highlighting gaps, conflicts and delivery risk.
  • Own the dependency register, ensuring each dependency has a clear description, impact, accountable owner, target date, status and resolution plan.
  • Support roadmap and release planning by ensuring product commitments are aligned to programme priorities, capacity constraints and client delivery timelines.

Stakeholder Coordination and Resolution

  • Coordinate Product, Delivery, Technology, Operations and programme stakeholders to validate dependencies, agree priorities and drive actions to closure.
  • Facilitate dependency reviews and governance forums, preparing decision-ready materials and escalating unresolved issues through the appropriate channels.
  • Drive dependency resolution by clarifying impacts, developing options, securing decisions and tracking agreed mitigations through to completion.

Reporting, Insight and Continuous Improvement

  • Produce concise dashboards and executive reporting covering dependency status, risks, milestones, ownership, decisions and next steps.
  • Apply AI and automation to streamline dependency tracking, programme assessments, reporting and management information, improving data quality, efficiency and forward-looking insight.
  • Identify recurring dependency themes and recommend improvements to governance, planning, controls, tooling and ways of working, using AI-driven insight where appropriate while maintaining data, security and responsible-use standards.

Skills

Delivery and Dependency Expertise

  • Strong understanding of product roadmaps, delivery lifecycles, programme planning and governance controls.
  • Ability to interpret complex dependencies, delivery constraints and competing priorities within a cross-functional environment.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with confidence engaging senior leaders and securing accountability across organisational boundaries.
  • Clear, concise communication tailored to governance and executive audiences.
  • Ability to work autonomously while building effective relationships across multidisciplinary and client-facing teams.

Analysis and Execution

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate impact, develop options and facilitate resolution.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with disciplined follow-through across multiple programmes and competing priorities.

Tools, AI and Controls

  • Proficiency with roadmap, delivery and reporting tools such as Jira, Confluence, Power BI, Excel or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong AI literacy and sound judgement in the responsible use of generative AI, automation and analytics, including human oversight, data protection and information security.

Experience and Qualifications

Mandatory Experience

  • Investment or asset management industry experience, with a strong understanding of the investment lifecycle and associated front- and middle-office functions.
  • Experience in a comparable technology or operations role within an asset management, front- or middle-office environment, including direct client engagement and knowledge of client service models.
  • Significant experience working across complex programmes where product, technology and operational change must be coordinated.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Recognised programme, project, product or agile qualification.
