Job Description

The Client Solutions Consultant supports the design and articulation of integrated investment servicing, technology and data solutions for institutional clients and prospects across APAC. The role combines leading client discovery sessions, operating model analysis, solution design and commercial support, translating complex requirements into clear, scalable and executable outcomes across State Street capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

· Support structured client discovery to understand strategy, investment operating model, business objectives, pain points, requirements and success criteria.

· Map current-state workflows, data flows, controls and technology dependencies, then help define practical target-state operating models.

· Translate client needs into integrated solutions spanning front, middle and back-office services, investment data management, analytics, reporting and platform capabilities.

· Prepare and deliver client presentations, demonstrations, workshops and proof-of-concept activities in partnership with sales, product, operations and technology teams.

· Develop clear solution artefacts, including workflow diagrams, scope statements, requirements, assumptions, decisions, dependencies and risks.

· Contribute to RFI and RFP responses, executive summaries, solution narratives, estimates and client meeting preparation.

· Help develop the value proposition and commercial proposal for all new opportunities

· Coordinate subject matter experts across business, product, architecture, operations, implementation and technology to develop and present a coherent end-to-end solution.

· Identify solution gaps, evaluate options and escalate material trade-offs. Document decisions and ensure alignment with enterprise standards, scalability and control expectations.

· Support an effective transition from pre-sales and service definition into implementation, ensuring context, commitments and design decisions are understood by delivery teams.

· Maintain current knowledge of investment industry trends, client operating models, relevant technologies and State Street capabilities.

Scope of the role

· Works across new business, existing client expansion and selected strategic solution initiatives.

· Operates as an individual contributor, leading defined solution workstreams and influencing multidisciplinary teams without relying on formal authority.

· Engages with senior client stakeholders and practitioners, adapting the level of detail to the audience.

· Travels across APAC as required.

Capabilities and Experience

· We recognise that strong candidates may not meet every capability or experience listed below. We encourage applications from individuals who bring relevant transferable experience, sound judgement and the ability to develop in the role.

· Demonstrated experience in institutional investment management, asset servicing, financial technology or consulting.

· Practical understanding of one or more investment lifecycle domains, such as order and portfolio management, compliance, risk, performance and attribution, investment accounting, middle-office operations, post-trade processing, collateral, data management or client reporting.

· Experience analysing complex operating models and translating business requirements into clear functional, process, data and technology outcomes.

· Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to simplify complexity and produce executive-ready materials.

· Effective stakeholder management and facilitation skills across clients, sales, product, operations, technology and delivery teams.

· Sound judgement, structured problem solving, attention to detail and the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively.

· Ability to manage concurrent priorities in a complex, fast-paced environment while maintaining ownership and follow-through.

· Understanding of enterprise platforms, data architectures, integrations and implementation lifecycles is advantageous.

· Knowledge of platforms and vendors used across investment management, such as Charles River, Aladdin, SimCorp, FactSet, Bloomberg or equivalent solutions, is advantageous.

· Experience supporting asset owners, superannuation funds, asset managers or insurers, including public and private market operating models, is advantageous.

Education and preferred qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in finance, accounting, business, technology, data or a related discipline.

· Typically 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, with sufficient depth to independently lead defined client solutioning activities.

· Relevant postgraduate study, industry accreditation or prior experience within State Street is advantageous.

What success looks like

· Client needs, constraints and success criteria are understood and reflected accurately in the solution.

· Solution options, assumptions, risks and decisions are made visible early and documented clearly.

· Proposed outcomes are commercially credible, operationally executable, technically coherent and aligned with enterprise standards.

· Client and internal stakeholders receive clear, consistent communication through discovery, design and handover.

· Implementation teams receive a complete and usable transfer of solution context, commitments and open items.

· The role strengthens reusable practices, content and institutional knowledge across the client solutions team.

Culture and conduct

The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate ownership, integrity, collaboration, respect and continuous improvement, and to operate in accordance with applicable State Street policies, risk requirements and standards of conduct.
