Job Description

Objective

The Alloy Supervisor is responsible for the safe, consistent, and efficient execution of melting operations across both Gateway and Taylor facilities. The position leads the Melt organization through one Operations Leader at each facility and is accountable for safety, quality, production performance, staffing, process discipline, communication, and shift handoff.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Melt operations across Gateway and Taylor, providing direction and accountability to the Operations Leader at each facility.
• Organize staffing and resources according to production requirements and shift priorities.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements, work instructions, PPE, and established operating standards.
• Monitor and improve safety, quality, productivity, equipment uptime, labor efficiency, and process performance.
• Ensure adherence to Melt standards, including alloy segregation, charge practices, material handling, fluxing, and furnace operation.
• Complete production and administrative documentation accurately and on time, including SAP and applicable production systems.
• Maintain clear and timely communication of production status, equipment concerns, staffing, safety/quality deviations, and open actions.
• Ensure effective Gateway and Taylor shift handoffs, including equipment condition, 5S, material status, priorities, and open issues.
• Maintain ownership and timely closure of assigned actions, investigations, attendance, and employee performance matters.
• Train, coach, and hold Operations Leaders and employees accountable to established standards.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or relevant technical education preferred.
• 1–3 years of manufacturing leadership experience preferred; foundry, melting, metals, or heavy industrial experience is a plus.
• Ability to lead through front-line leaders and manage two operating facilities simultaneously.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office; SAP experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently, make operational decisions, and appropriately escalate issues.
