Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and organised Aircraft Cleaning Operations Allocator to support our Virgin Atlantic operation at Heathrow Airport. This role is responsible for the effective deployment of aircraft cleaning teams across arriving and departing flights, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to meet operational requirements and strict turnaround times.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining operational performance by coordinating staff deployment, communicating with managers and supervisors, monitoring live operational demands and supporting the delivery of a safe, compliant and high-quality cleaning service.

PLEASE NOTE: This role requires you to be a resident in the UK for 3 years or longer.

What's on offer:

  • Working Hours: 0500-1330 or 1330-2200
  • Shift pattern: 4 days on, 2 days off.
  • Hours per week: 40 hours
  • Salary: £35,280 per annum
  • Weekly Pay (every Friday)
  • Temp to Perm (performance-related).

Key responsibilities:

  • Allocate aircraft cleaning operatives to flights, tasks and operational areas based on skills, availability and workload requirements.
  • Monitor live flight schedules and operational changes, adjusting staff deployment to support aircraft turnaround targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of staff allocations, shift amendments, attendance and task completion.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with Duty Managers, Supervisors and operational teams throughout each shift.
  • Utilise Microsoft Office applications, scheduling systems, allocation tools and radio communications to manage workflow effectively.
  • Support operational disruptions, delays and last-minute changes by reallocating resources quickly and efficiently.
  • Assist managers and colleagues with problem-solving to minimise operational impact and maintain service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements, airport regulations, company procedures and customer standards.
  • Identify and report staffing shortages, attendance concerns and operational risks in a timely manner.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and proactively take on additional responsibilities following training.

The ideal candidate:

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Previous experience within aviation, aircraft cleaning, scheduling, workforce planning, rostering or other fast-paced operational environments is desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise effectively with managers, supervisors and operational teams.
  • Ability to remain calm and make informed decisions under pressure in a time-critical environment.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to support operational decision-making.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a willingness to learn and develop within the role.
  • Comfortable using radios, scheduling software and operational IT systems.
  • Right to Work in the UK.
