Allocator - Branch Merchandising / London HO

Department: Commercial Operations and Planning

Position Reports to: Assistant Branch Merchandiser

The Role:

To support the Assistant Merchandiser in our store stock management strategy, ensuring stock levels are maintained in line with business requirements to deliver sales and profit targets through effective management and implementation of processes

  • This role gives the individual the opportunity to support and shape an evolving function and demonstrate immediate impact with their actions

  • Uses analysis to identify and quantify risks and opportunities

  • With an entrepreneurial style that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and enjoys problem solving

Key Accountabilities and Measures:

  • Stores availability

  • New Stores stock builds and availability

  • Price change management

  • Gift card management

Stock and Availability:

  • Support in optimising Store availability, including a Combat stores focus, through commercial analysis and inventory management.

  • Support the Assistant Merchandiser in maintaining strong links with the Retail field team through regular and effective communication, identifying opportunities and risks, share insights and follow up on actions

  • Undergo store visits to assess opportunities and risks, share insights and follow up on actions

  • Support the Assistant Merchandiser to ensure a robust stock management process during peak trading, and understand the tools required to maximise sales/availability for seasonal events, promotional activity

  • Run weekly store tester availability reporting and communicate risks to the wider business

  • Assist with the Inventory input for the store communication process, including attending weekly store calls

New stores:

  • Identify and communicate ranging gaps to the Category teams and your Assistant Merchandiser to identify areas of concern/risk

  • Support the Assistant Merchandiser to identify targeted actions to support the delivery of a balanced opening stock package

  • Conduct pre-opening inventory checks to identify any final requirements

Trade Reporting:

  • Complete Monday trade reporting, prepare analysis and identify insights and potential actions. Discuss with your team/ Assistant Branch Merchandiser

  • Attend the Commercial Trade meeting and identify areas for investigation and further potential action

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Gift Card allocations

  • Retention gift allocations

  • Support requests for Ad Hoc stock and replenishment queries, preparing data and understanding the objective of requests

Training & Development:

  • Develop excellent working knowledge of all Tech systems used

  • Support in the training and development of new starters

  • Responsible for driving own development and actively seeking out training as required

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships

  • Team player

  • Ability to interpret data

  • Strong excel skills

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
