Job Description

At AlgoSec, what you do matters.

AlgoSec helps the world’s leading organizations secure application connectivity across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Trusted by more than 2,200 global organizations, our platform delivers visibility, security policy management, risk reduction, and compliance automation across complex enterprise networks.

As we continue to expand our cloud and enterprise business globally, we are seeking an AlgoSec Resident Engineer to serve as a trusted, senior technical advisor to strategic customers, helping them maximize the value of the AlgoSec platform. This role combines deep expertise in network security, firewalls, Linux, and AlgoSec with a consultative leadership approach, adoption planning, and strong customer influence. You will not simply operate the platform on behalf of the customer but help mature how they use AlgoSec by improving visibility, reducing risk, advancing change automation and compliance, operational readiness, and internal capability.

This is an opportunity to join a profitable, growing cybersecurity company with strong market traction, a collaborative culture, and significant growth potential.

Reporting to: AlgoSec Resident Engineering Team Leader

Location: US East/Central or Canada (Home Office)

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the senior technical advisor to strategic customers, helping them maximize AlgoSec platform value and mature their network security operations across visibility, risk reduction, change automation, compliance, firewall policy management, operational workflows, and application connectivity.
  • Build trusted relationships with customer technical teams, managers, and stakeholders by combining deep product expertise with practical, consultative guidance.
  • Translate customer goals/challenges into adoption roadmaps with clear priorities, milestones, owners, risks, success measures, and maintain visibility into customer priorities, action items, adoption progress, and value realization.
  • Assess platform health, usage, data quality, process gaps, and operating maturity; recommend improvements that reduce friction and increase value.
  • Guide customers toward scalable best practices by influencing decisions, challenging assumptions when needed, and advising on architecture, configurations, integrations, upgrades, performance, and operational readiness.
  • Lead technical workshops, enablement sessions, health checks, planning discussions, and QBRs/EBRs to drive adoption and operational maturity.
  • Build long-term customer capability through coaching, knowledge transfer, SOPs, runbooks, and documentation with the goal of reducing customer dependency over time.
  • Support complex troubleshooting and escalations when needed while focusing on advisory, adoption, and long-term customer outcomes rather than day-to-day support.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Customer Success, Sales, Professional Services, Support, Product, and R&D to remove blockers, advocate for the customer, and drive account outcomes.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years in network security, security architecture, technical account management, resident engineering, solutions consulting, professional services, or a similar, customer-facing technical role.
  • Expertise in enterprise network security, firewalls, routing, Linux/Unix, troubleshooting, basic scripting, and complex hybrid environments, including platforms such as Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, and Juniper.
  • Ability to diagnose complex technical issues, communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders, challenge requirements, and guide customers toward scalable, best-practice outcomes.
  • Strong consultative, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive alignment, prioritize effectively, and bring structure to ambiguous environments.
  • Customer-first mindset with the confidence to challenge assumptions, provide strategic guidance, and lead customer conversations.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%, working mostly on-site with AlgoSec customers in the Americas.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with security policy management, network automation, segmentation, compliance, application connectivity, and change management.
  • Experience leading QBRs / EBRs or presenting technical value to senior customer stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with cloud and hybrid enterprise environments, including AWS, Azure, GCP, Infrastructure as Code and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, CloudFormation), SIEM/SOAR, ITSM workflows, and vulnerability management platforms such as Qualys, Rapid7, and Tenable.
  • Knowledge in GRC (Governance Risk and Compliance).
  • AlgoSec experience or certification.

A reasonable estimate of the OTE for this role at the time of posting is $120,000-130,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, training, and certifications. Candidates whose requirements fall outside this range are still encouraged to apply.

AlgoSec is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to creating a friendly, diverse, and inclusive company culture.
