About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Algorithm Developer to develop advanced computer vision, machine learning, and image processing solutions for next-generation semiconductor inspection and metrology systems. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, optimization, and deployment of innovative algorithms that enable critical product capabilities and deliver measurable customer value.

Key Responsibilities

Algorithm Development

• Design, develop, and optimize advanced inspection and metrology algorithms for semiconductor applications.
• Apply state-of-the-art techniques in computer vision, image processing, machine learning, and deep learning to solve complex product and customer challenges.
• Develop robust and scalable algorithms for defect detection, classification, image segmentation, image registration, etc.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and research developments and assess their applicability to product requirements.
• Optimize algorithm performance for high-throughput production environments using CPU, GPU, and parallel computing techniques.
• Develop algorithm characterization methodologies, benchmarking frameworks, validation strategies, and performance metrics.
• Analyze large datasets to understand algorithm behavior, identify performance gaps, and drive continuous improvements.

Product Development & Collaboration

• Collaborate with product management, applications engineering, and systems teams to translate customer requirements into product features.
• Work closely with software, HPC, and systems engineering teams to integrate algorithms into production software.
• Participate in feature definition, technical design reviews, implementation planning, and release activities.
• Investigate and resolve product issues, customer escalations, and field-related algorithm challenges.
• Contribute to all phases of algorithm development, including concept generation, prototyping, implementation, testing, optimization, and product release.
• Document technical designs, validation results, and development best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

• MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of industry experience developing computer vision, image processing, machine learning, or computational imaging algorithms.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
• Solid understanding of computer vision, image processing, machine learning, and deep learning techniques.
• Experience developing algorithms for complex, hardware-integrated systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams.
• Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.

Preferred Technical Skills

• Semiconductor: Experience in semiconductor inspection, metrology, semiconductor equipment, or a related industry.
• Computer Vision: Detection, segmentation, registration, alignment, classification, and anomaly detection.
• Machine Learning & Deep Learning: CNNs, transformers, self-supervised learning, and model optimization.
• Programming: C++, Python, OpenCV, NumPy, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
• High-Performance Computing: CUDA, GPU acceleration, and CPU compute optimization.
• Data Analysis & Visualization: Statistical analysis, experiment design, and performance characterization.
