Accountabilities
- Partner with Alexion Operations & RDU Ireland to set bold, actionable goals and deliverables across key pillars, translating broad ambitions into clear, measurable objectives.- Collaborate directly with the Alexion sustainability lead to establish clear goals and deliverables across each pillar of our sustainability work.- Support sustainability efforts by codifying ambitions into tangible goals, driving awareness, and ensuring effective measurement and reporting.- Advise, develop, and produce communication strategy and materials for the sustainability lead and team.- Work with Operations and communications leaders across AstraZeneca to maintain consistent, aligned messaging and approach.- Champion the use of AI and digital technologies to optimize communication effectiveness, personalize audience engagement, and measure impact.- Advise, develop, and draft communications strategies, messages, and materials for the Alexion Operations leadership team.- Develop and execute communication plans that showcase Alexion Operations achievements and milestones through engaging media such as video, infographics, and presentations.- Act as a strategic partner to site leadership, translating business and sustainability priorities into impactful communication plans.- Lead major site-wide initiatives including town halls, employee campaigns, change initiatives, and milestone celebrations.- Nurture employee engagement and culture through transparent, inclusive communication and effective feedback mechanisms. Manage relationships and external engagement with local authorities, media, industry groups, and the wider community.- Oversee issues and crisis communications, including proactive planning and effective real-time response.- Work closely with the Alexion and AstraZeneca Internal Communications team to ensure full alignment between operations and enterprise communication strategies.
Essential Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.- 8+ years’ experience in communications roles, ideally within a global, matrixed organization.- Proven expertise in internal, external, and crisis communications, including advising senior leaders.- Experience leveraging AI and digital tools to inform communications strategies and drive innovation in messaging and engagement.- Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate complex business issues into clear messaging.- Outstanding stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.- Understanding of and passion for sustainability and corporate responsibility concepts.- Experience working with media and understanding the Irish media landscape.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.- Experience in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare sector.- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for communications.- Experience in organizational change management and culture-building initiatives.- Advanced digital communications and media production skills.
