Ale Haus Host – Part-Time (Evenings & Weekends)

💰 Starting Pay: $16.00/hour

🕒 Schedule: Part-Time Currently hiring for evening/night shifts and weekends. Open availability during these times is required.

The Ale Haus Host is the first point of contact for restaurant guests and plays an important role in creating a welcoming dining experience. This position is responsible for greeting guests, managing seating arrangements, coordinating waitlists and reservations, and ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant's front-of-house area. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and committed to delivering exceptional guest service.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Practice, support, and uphold the Mission, Vision, and Values of WarHorse Gaming Omaha, LLC.
  • Greet guests promptly with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
  • Escort guests to their tables while maintaining an organized seating rotation.
  • Manage waitlists and reservations, providing accurate wait time estimates.
  • Assist guests with special seating requests and accommodate guest needs whenever possible.
  • Maintain and update the restaurant seating chart, including dining room, bar, and lounge seating.
  • Coordinate table assignments with servers and bussers to ensure efficient service flow.
  • Communicate effectively with restaurant team members to provide outstanding guest service.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the host stand throughout each shift.
  • Clean and sanitize menus and other guest-facing materials as needed.
  • Assist with to-go orders and other front-of-house duties when necessary.
  • Provide guests with information about restaurant offerings, casino amenities, and promotions.
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions.
  • Follow all company policies, department procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be 19 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Experience using smartphones, tablets, or touchscreen technology preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to outstanding guest service and ethical conduct.

Work Hours

Due to the nature of the hospitality and gaming industry, team members must be available to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Certifications & Licensing

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Nebraska Gaming License
  • Food Handler Certification
  • ServSafe Certification
  • TIPS Alcohol Certification

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

This position requires frequent standing, walking, and interaction with guests in a busy restaurant environment.

Team members must be able to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry up to 20 pounds
  • Frequently bend, reach, and move throughout the dining room.
  • Maintain balance, coordination, and manual dexterity while performing daily tasks.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Maintain awareness of guests and surroundings while multitasking.
  • Effectively utilize sight, hearing, touch, smell, and communication skills to provide exceptional guest service.
