Alcohol Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Decatur, IL

About the Role:
As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) you will support the Alcohol department by driving and improving process and SHEQ (safety, health, quality, and environmental) performance of the carbon capture and fermentation portions of the plant. This includes responding to process upsets, driving improvements from equipment and process losses, assisting in training within the department, assisting the maintenance department in coordinating critical repairs, and assisting the engineering team in executing projects.

What you’ll do:

• Champion safety and drive safety improvements within the Fermentation & CCS processes
• Oversee daily operations and process performance within CCS and Fermentation
• Track and respond to process performance issues surrounding safety, production, quality, and environmental requirements
• Execute root-cause-analysis for process upsets and safety issues and work with Alcohol team to close gaps
• Execute process improvements and projects within CCS and Fermentation
• Assist engineering team with executing large improvement projects
• Coordinate with maintenance department to execute critical equipment repairs and turnarounds on-time
• Updating critical safety documentation such as ESLPs, one-point lessons, and SOPs for fermentation and CCS process
• Partner with training department to drive operator training and qualifications

What You Bring:

• Highschool diploma or GED required
• 5+ years manufacturing experience
• Competency of Microsoft Office suite applications
• Experience with Job Hazard Analysis and safety compliance

Work Environment and Physical requirements

• Support operations across multiple shifts as needed
• Wear required personal protective equipment, including a respirator
• Work in confined spaces and at heights when required
• Move throughout the facility, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing
• Lift up to 50 pounds as part of normal job duties and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$70,400.00 - $131,600.00

Salaried Incentive Plan

The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus
