
This is a community nurse role, providing professional and quality education, assessments and treatment options to clients seeking support for drug and alcohol and mental health issues.
The role aims to achieve reduced harm and risks associated with alcohol and other drug use for the client, carers and family, in accordance with the SEWB way of knowing, being and doing.

The AOD Registered Nurse provides culturally safe, trauma-informed and evidence-based alcohol and other drug assessment, treatment, care coordination and health education within GEGAC’s Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation model of care. The role undertakes comprehensive clinical assessments, supports clients, families and carers with complex AOD, physical health, mental health, social and emotional wellbeing, and social support needs, and strengthens stakeholder engagement to support coordinated care, effective referral pathways and the best possible client outcomes.
