The ideal candidate will serve as the primary liaison between FAA stakeholders, engineering teams, and program leadership, ensuring that requirements unique to Alaska’s operational environment are effectively translated into deliverables. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth experience in federal contracting while supporting high-visibility aviation programs.

  • Define, maintain, and prioritize the product vision, roadmap, and backlog aligned to Alaska’s operational needs.

  • Translate stakeholder requirements into user stories, features, and epics for engineering teams.

  • Collaborate with FAA leaders, local operators, and technical experts to define priorities and ensure alignment with mission objectives.

  • Support the deployment of infrastructure, communications, surveillance, and navigation solutions specific to Alaska.

  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release prioritization with Agile teams.

  • Ensure solutions comply with FAA safety standards, cybersecurity frameworks, and resiliency requirements.

  • Provide progress reports, KPIs, and value delivery metrics to FAA leadership.

  • Identify and manage dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies for Alaska programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex product backlogs and feature prioritization.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills with experience briefing executives.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.

Why This Role Matters:

The FAA is the cornerstone of aviation safety and innovation. As the Alaska Workstream Product Owner, you will play a vital role in ensuring that FAA systems and infrastructure meet the unique demands of Alaska, directly supporting the safety of local communities, commercial operators, and the traveling public.
