Training Pay: $15.50/hr

Full-Time Pay: $20/hr if selected

Training: 8 wk, paid, 40 hr/wk

Classroom Training: 9x80, Mon–Fri, 6:00 AM–3:30 PM; Fridays 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with every other Friday off.

OJT Training: 4x10, Mon–Thu, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Full-Time Sched: 4x10, with 1st Shift Mon–Thu, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; Weekend Shift Thu–Sun, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; or 2nd Shift Mon–Thu, 3:30 PM–2:00 AM.

Start a career in aerospace manufacturing without prior aerospace experience. AMTAP is a 8-wk paid apprenticeship providing classroom and hands-on training to develop skills needed to build space flight hardware.

TRAINING & RESPONSIBILITIES

You will:

• Learn torquing, soldering, point-to-point wiring, precision manufacturing, manufacturing work instructions, and aerospace production processes.
• Learn to read engineering documents and use tools with small components.
• Perform precise work while following detailed work instructions and quality requirements.
• Complete written and hands-on training and certification requirements.
• Demonstrate the skills and performance needed to successfully complete the program.

You may earn industry-recognized certifications, including IPC 620 Cable Harness Certification and J-STD Limited Solder Certification. Lockheed Martin pays for required certifications.

FULL-TIME OPPORTUNITIES

After successful completion of required certifications and performance expectations, you may be considered for available full-time production opportunities. Full-time employment is not guaranteed and depends on individual performance, successful completion of program requirements, and business needs.

If selected for a full-time production role, you must remain in that position for at least 12 months in accordance with Lockheed Martin requirements. Full-time starting pay is $20/hr if selected.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

No aerospace experience is required. Skills from work, school, hobbies, or everyday life can be valuable. Sewing, knitting, crocheting, soldering, robotics, drones, computers, woodworking, painting, cooking, origami, or other detailed hands-on activities can demonstrate useful skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and manual dexterity.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and learn quickly.
• Ability to successfully complete written and hands-on training requirements.
• Ability to work effectively independently or in teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Willingness to work any assigned Monday–Friday 5x8 shift after training.
• Willingness to successfully complete required certifications and performance expectations.

Basic Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following minimum qualifications. We encourage candidates to apply if they have transferable experience or skills that demonstrate their ability to perform the work:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and manual dexterity.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic manufacturing/production environment.
• Ability to successfully complete written and hands-on certification requirements.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance required.
• Willingness and ability to work assigned shifts based on business needs following training.

Desired Skills

Nice-to-have skills that strengthen candidacy but are not required:

• Microsoft Office experience.
• Electrical/electronic theory or coursework.
• Aerospace, manufacturing, or production experience.
• Demonstrated integrity, teamwork, and conflict-resolution skills.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $15.20 - $23.26

• For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
