We are currently looking for a trainee to Join our growing Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) team. The trainee shall embark on a 2-year training programme, with on-the-job training intended to upskill the individual, potentially culminating in certification to recognised Industrial Standards. Upon satisfactory completion of the traineeship, the successful qualified trainee will then be offered a permanent role as a qualified AIT Technician.
Role requirements
The trainee will be working as part of spacecraft mission teams to efficiently progress the spacecraft through each stage of the Assembly, Integration & Test process and external Environmental test phase.
Key Tasks
× Spacecraft mechanical integration & test planning
× Assist with Spacecraft electrical integration & test planning
× Assist with Spacecraft harness and test cable definition & manufacture
× General Cleanroom logistics, planning and execution
× General AIT and EVT support with possible overseas travel
× Maintain tidiness and safe working practices in the AIT cleanroom
× Liaise with mission team and external customers
× Support training programmes for both internal and customer engineers
× Presentation at required design, test and project reviews
Qualifications Knowledge & Skills
· Practical, hands-on ability. Genuine interest and satisfaction in hands-on work.
· Excellent planning and organising skills. Reliable.
· Good general computing skills (word processing and basic spreadsheets) Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· Familiar with soldering (but not an expert).
· Clear communication skills.
· Commitment to take own initiative.
· Desire to support others.
· Good team working skills.
· Able to demonstrate company mindsets and behaviours; Be accountable, Drive & delivery, communicate effectively, Self-manage effectively, Work as one team.
The role is based on site in Guildford.
Fixed term with the view of going permanent at the end of the training programme.
