Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes to make radio work? As a Airtime Team Leader,you will lead the day-to-day airtime and broadcast operations across a portfolio of stations, ensuring bookings, broadcast logs, material instructions, and campaign delivery are executed accurately and on schedule.
You’ll oversee operational quality, workload coordination, compliance checks, and issue resolution while supporting and developing a high-performing operations team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented leader who thrives in fast-paced broadcast environments and enjoys balancing operational precision with team leadership.
YOUR DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and coordinate daily broadcast operations activities across the assigned hub or station group
Manage workload allocation, team coverage, and operational priorities to ensure delivery deadlines are consistently met
Oversee airtime bookings and ensure all submissions are processed accurately and within required turnaround times
Review booking compliance and coordinate resolutions for issues relating to broadcast rules, approvals, and scheduling requirements
Oversee daily broadcast log scheduling and conduct quality checks across spot placement, networking, layout, and exports
Monitor reconciliation activities and ensure operational discrepancies are resolved promptly
Coordinate closely with Sales, Creative, Production, and Programming teams regarding material instructions and audio readiness
Ensure all broadcast activity complies with operational standards, broadcast policies, and regulatory requirements
Review operational reports, system checks, and scheduling outputs to maintain accuracy and delivery quality
Act as the escalation point for operational issues and collaborate with leadership teams to resolve complex concerns
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across workflows, scheduling processes, and operational governance
Support onboarding, coaching, training, and development initiatives for team members
Maintain accurate documentation, operational trackers, and station-related records
Undertake additional projects and operational duties as required
A BIT ABOUT YOU
Experience in broadcast operations, airtime coordination, traffic scheduling, media operations, or related broadcast environments
Previous leadership, senior operations, or team management experience is highly preferred
Strong knowledge of broadcast scheduling, airtime operations, log management, or traffic coordination processes
Experience working with airtime booking systems such as Aquira or similar broadcast traffic platforms is advantageous
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy across bookings, logs, and operational workflows
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines in fast-paced environments
Confident communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across operational, commercial, and programming teams
Solutions-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
Ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining high operational and quality standards under pressure
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook
