The Training Duty Manageris responsible forensuring the daily airport operation runs in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective managerThe Duty Manager will oversee and coordinate team activities to create a safe, reliable, efficient, and effective operation.

Job Duties:  

  • Models Unifi's Safety goals, mission, vision, and values.
  • Promotes adherence through various methods of communication
  • Leads and supports the employee-engaged culture
  • Oversees and coordinates team activities related to the operation.
  • Monitors and enforces a safe and compliant working environment in accordance with Transport Canada, Westjet, and all other regulatory bodies.
  • Coaches, counsels, and mentor's employees and enforces Company policies and procedures, including issuing disciplinary action as required.
  • Promotes and adheres to Unifi Safety, Anti-Harassment, and Equal Employment Opportunity policy.
  • Assists in recruiting, administrative, payroll, employee scheduling, and general administrative duties.
  • Monitors staffing, overtime use, and operational and financial performance of assigned shift/station.
  • Promotes team-building initiatives and performs coaching/mentoring activities to develop and motivate team members.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.
  • Monitor training records and compliance.
  • Schedule and implement training sessions.
  • Manage and mentor a team of training supervisors.
  • Responsible for making informed decisions that align with organizational goals and safety standards.
  • Oversee and foster effective union relations.

Qualifications:  

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent education.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain credentials required as per local authorities.
  • Supervisory experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of relevant work experience in the aviation or ground handling services industry.

Physical requirements

  • Must be able to frequentlypush, pull, stoop, squat, kneel, bend, lift up to 70lbs and moveup to 70lbs; and constantlywalk, stand, handle, grasp and reach out May have to reach above shoulder occasionally.

Working conditions:  

  • You will need to have flexibility in your schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays We operate365 24/7 operations.
  • Enjoy the outdoors on a daily basis (sun, rain, sleet or snow!) May be exposed to a wide variety of weather conditions, jet and machinery noises, fumes, dirt and dust for extended periods.
  • Must be willing and able to travel as operationally needed.
