Airport Operations Intern

AIRPORT OPERATIONS INTERN
Join us as An Airport OperationsIntern for a fixed-term period of 4 months, covering the summer peak at Budapest Airport (BUD). This role, reporting to the Ground Operations Manager, is perfect for students looking to gain valuable experience in aviation operations. You'll be part of a dynamic and international team, making a real impact during one of the busiest times of the year.
Responsibilities:
Disruption Management:
Oversee disruption management at Budapest Airport
Communicate and follow up on flight disruptions and recovery procedures based on EU261/2004 regulation
Be present at the boarding gate for flights with potential disruptions
Assist passengers with questions regarding the company or ongoing disruptions (during delays, flight reschedules, or cancellations)
Support passengers during disruptions by distributing water and meal vouchers
Supervise hotel arrangements concluded by the Ground Handling Provider
General operations related tasks (out of disruption times)
Real-time monitoring of the operation at Budapest Airport based on Ground Operations needs
Requirements:
Active university/college full-time student status in Hungary
Fluent in English and Hungarian (written and spoken); additional languages are an advantage
Ability to work in 7-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays, from morning until late evening
Ability to work under pressure
Excellent communication and organization skills
Flexible approach and ability to remain diplomatic
Experience in airport operations or in customer care areas is an advantage
