1st Shift Airfoil Braze Supervisor
Lead all scheduling and training of airfoil brazing programs. Monitor all employee performance via production rates, rejects, and other pertinent information necessary for a repeatable, successful brazing process. Provide feedback to Production Manager on all follow-up items pertaining to customers, employees, and department functions. Coordinates braze schedule and product, as received. Assist and train in all braze operations. Communicate with Production Manager and Production Scheduler on daily scheduling to ensure best possible turnaround for customers. Ensure that all production activities are conducted in a safe manner.
- Responsible for all activities across the active shifts of the Airfoil Braze Department.
- Keep inventory of all tools necessary to perform job and ensure all operators are trained on handling tools to prevent damage.
- Complete monthly inventory on customer supplied material (balls, plates, alloy).
- Contribute to department production operations as time allows; roughly 20% of working hours.
- Coordinate work from this department to other departments.
- Schedule production based off loads received by viewing the in-house schedule and follow the schedule to meet customer requirements.
- Monitor all equipment and tools frequently during shift assignment.
- Maintain all logbooks and inspection logs assigned to the department.
- Maintain subordinate documentation and all training records.
- Verify accuracy of production logs and follow-up as necessary with Airfoil Braze Operators I and II.
- Report equipment problems to Maintenance using tagging procedure, log notes, and maintenance requisitions.
- Report deviations from specifications to Quality Assurance Manager, Production Manager, and/or Plant Manager.
- Maintain communication between all plant and office personnel; lead daily standup meetings (LDMS).
- Maintain high standards for safety, security, and housekeeping through appropriate use of management techniques.
- Ensure your direct reports maintain high productivity and quality standards.
- Approved and capable of placing loads on suspect hold that may contain non-conforming product as well as dispositioning reworks.
- Monitor performance of Airfoil Braze Operator I and II employees and discipline as necessary.
- Respond to any and all customer inquiries on a professional and timely basis.
- Cultivate a strong business relationship with customers and vendors.
- Discipline in accordance with company policy, shop rules, and regulations.
- Confirm that all production activities are conducted in a safe manner. Help in the investigation of all injury and near-miss incidents.  Establish and maintain strong safety awareness in the department and among all personnel.
- Maintain cleanliness in shop and encourage good housekeeping activities.
- Respond to afterhours employee and customer calls with courtesy and give informed answers to questions.
- Travel to and participate in job-related requirements, such as meetings, conventions, and training.  Such travel may involve overnight stays of one or more nights.
- Notify Plant Manager and/or Maintenance personnel upon discovery of equipment problems or failures.

QualificationsEducation:
- Requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical principles and basic math.
- Knowledge of computers and programmable controls; understanding ladder logic is preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred

License(s)/Certification(s) Required:
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record in compliance with Paulo’s Vehicle Use Policy.
- Must be able to obtain a forklift certification.
