– Airfield Lighting Technician (AFLT)

Job Title: Airfield Lighting Technician (AFLT)
Job Location: Al Sailiya, Qatar
Industry: Construction
Contract Duration: 3 Months (Extendable)

Experience Requirements

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an Airfield Lighting Technician / Electrician
Proven experience working on airfield lighting systems or high-voltage electrical systems
Construction industry experience is mandatory

Eligibility

Applicant must be locally available in Qatar
Must hold a valid Freelance Visa

Job Responsibilities

Install, test, maintain, and repair airfield lighting systems and associated high-voltage electrical power and distribution equipment
Perform work on electrical systems above 600 volts, following approved safety procedures
Install, service, and repair generators, transformers, switchboards, control panels, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems
Carry out fault diagnosis and troubleshooting on airfield lighting and power distribution systems
Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, layouts, and technical specifications
Perform electrical load calculations and verify wiring and equipment capacity
Use electrician hand tools and measuring and testing instruments such as multimeters, insulation testers, and high-voltage test equipment
Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, aviation standards, project specifications, and site safety regulations
Coordinate with project teams to support construction and maintenance activities
Maintain proper documentation, inspection records, and maintenance reports

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of airfield lighting systems and high-voltage electrical installations
Sound understanding of electrical safety standards for systems above 600V
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and basic electronic control circuits
Good mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical skills
Familiarity with construction site safety and aviation-related electrical systems
