The Aircraft Worker makes repairs to aircraft following orders of higher-grade workers, assists in troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls. The Aircraft Worker also assists in troubleshooting malfunctions associated with anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
​​​​Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces, controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
Removes, cleans, reinstalls, or replaces defective parts, accessories, and components such as worn gaskets, couplings, fittings, bad actuators, accumulators, gauges, sections of corroded fuel and oil lines
May supervise the jacking and towing of aircraft.
Makes adjustments such as cable tension and seat movement settings.
Obtains standard parts such as fuel, oil line connections, fittings, cable linkage, spark plug cables and harnesses by referring to parts manuals and makes comparisons with samples.
May perform pre-flight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
Maintains maintenance records description of the work performed.
Services engines and aircraft components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.
May supervise the jacking and towing of aircraft.
Other duties as identified and assigned.
QualificationsRequired Education and Experience
Experience troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls.
Experience troubleshooting malfunctions associated with anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Forklift certification (as required).
May be required to be licensed by Federal Aviation Administration.
Supervisory Responsibilities
As Required.
Security Responsibilities
Eligible and obtain (if required) a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures.
May be responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials. Employee shall not divulge any information, or afford access to other employees not having a need-to-know authorization. Shall not divulge information outside the company without management approval. Will be required to execute company non-disclosure agreement prior to access to any controlled information.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex words and technical documents/diagrams.
Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team.
Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills
Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.

Shop floor environment.
Will be working in areas with risk of injury from electrical applications, moving mechanical parts, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems under pressure and electrical motion systems.
May be exposed to conditions of extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises.
