Job Description

In order to support Air Power Engineering, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

Aircraft Systems Engineer (Multisystems) (d/f/m)

We are seeking an Aircraft Systems Architect with a systemic vision and an analytical mindset capable of leading the development lifecycle from its initial conception. In this role, you will be responsible for orchestrating the integration of complex functions, ensuring that the system architecture is not only efficient and scalable but also strictly compliant with the development and safety-critical processes defined by ARP4754A.

We are not looking for a mere executor; we need a technically inquisitive professional who understands the impact of every requirement on aircraft safety and can manage full traceability—from the system level down to the embedded hardware and software.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate solid experience in requirements capture, functional allocation, and safety analysis (FHA, PSSA, SSA), ensuring the proposed architecture supports the required Design Assurance Levels (DAL). We value a proactive attitude in identifying critical dependencies and mitigating technical risks during the early design phases.

Due to new aircraft system design paradigms and new architectures demand for optimizing the digital and computing resources that host functionality of aircraft systems, we offer the possibility of training in the latest concepts of aircraft system architectures and processes such as Multisystems, IMA (ATA42) and MBSE. These new architectural concepts prompt a new way of working for the development lifecycle stage, with separate roles for architecting ATA 42, architecting user systems, developing applicative software and integrating the resulting software items into the shared computing platform. In this sense, MBSE techniques present an enormous potential to optimize the subsequent tasks of integrating the aircraft functions into these architectures.

If you are passionate about structuring systems where interconnectivity and redundancy are paramount, and you possess the rigor necessary to work within a high-stakes certification environment, we offer you the opportunity to lead the systems architecture at the core of next-generation aerial platforms.

Your location

Located about an hour’s drive north of Munich, Manching is an up-and-coming market town that offers a wide range of leisure and cultural activities. Here, you can enjoy the quality of life in the countryside while the pleasures of near-by cities are still within easy reach.

  • When applicable, negotiate and implement user-systems needs into Shared Computing Resources (IMA) and Aircraft Data Network.

  • Exercise complete aircraft systems design life cycle from the definition to the validation and certification of the system.

  • During the Concept Phase of any project, devise the concept for the architecture of Aircraft, including the computing and data network infrastructure (e.g. usage of shared infrastructure versus federated approach).
