Description:

The Aircraft Maintenance Trainee is in training to perform aircraft maintenance and/or repairs within budgeted time in accordance with AAR standards of quality.

The Aircraft Maintenance Trainee works alongside experienced aircraft maintenance technicians who will teach and guide them through assigned tasks. Aircraft Maintenance Technicians learn how to perform maintenance correctly while developing the skills necessary for a long-term aviation career.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Use and operate safely all ground support equipment (i.e. manlifts, scissor lifts, etc.).
  • Learn and perform aircraft maintenance and repair tasks under supervision.
  • Follow approved maintenance procedures and technical documentation.
  • Read and use maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, service bulletins, and other maintenance instructions.
  • Accurately complete maintenance records and paperwork.
  • Safely operate ladders, lifts, and other approved ground support equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Work effectively with teammates, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Perform assigned maintenance tasks while meeting AAR Aircraft Services quality and safety standards.
  • Read and use maintenance manuals, parts illustrations, ATA codes and service bulletins to perform assigned work.
  • Perform other work as instructed by Lead or other members of the leadership team.

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Perform relatively simple taskwork under direct supervision
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to provide required tools as outlined on the company tool list

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, crawl, and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work from ladders, work stands, and elevated platforms
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment with elevated noise levels
  • Visual Acuity must be at least 20/40 corrected and distinguish color
  • Normal or corrected hearing
