You will be an Technical Writer - Level 2 for Advanced Development Programs (ADP) Skunkworks.

What You Will Be Doing.

In this position you will plans, coordinate, direct, and/or perform engineering assignments involving specifications for, and design changes or alterations to, aircraft, engines, systems, components, and field or shop equipment. You will investigate and analyze project requirements and operating problems and develop recommended solutions to meet company governmental safety and performance standards including Minimum Equipment List (MEL). You will evaluate, select, apply, and/or adapt engineering modifications; design or recommend new or modified parts and components. You will analyze reparability of parts and components and evaluate operating data on parts, components, and systems to establish causes and to determine remedies for wear, malfunctions, or premature removals. You will analyze and evaluate aircraft and associated equipment proposals; prepare technical data, procedures, reports, drawings, manuals, and other required publications.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop and deliver technically accurate maintenance documentation both independently and with a team.
• Verify and certify publication content to meet corrective measures and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering and customer support representatives to gather needed data.
• Translate engineering technical data into clear maintenance instructions.

Basic Qualifications

• Must hold a Secret clearance prior to start
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of aircraft operation and maintenance.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, commercial technical manuals, technical drawings, and/or schematics
• Experience with markup language authoring (i.e. Knowledgeable in element and attribute XML tagging for S1000D-compliant interactive electronic publications)

Desired Skills

• Exceptional attention to detail
• Previous aircraft maintenance background
• Familiar with the Tech Order system and/or experience with Technical Publications software
• Experience evaluating technical order changes
• Ability to travel as needed
• Bachelors degree from accredited college in related field preferred

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

• For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
