The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.

Assist the Program Training Manager in developing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating training requirements for Host Nation in aviation maintenance. Performs aircraft maintenance platform training and related peripheral maintenance activities orientations, instruction, principally on, but not limited to, various models of UH-60 Black Hawk type aircraft. Conducts hands-on training task and skills development and other activities in English and Spanish but principally Spanish, as a Platform Instructor and On the Job Trainer.

Key Responsibility:

  • Develops formal classroom courseware to ISD standards in English and or Spanish to ensure compliance with program training objectives, standards and procedures for UH-60 Type ACFT.
  • Utilizes training documents and exam control measures of courses, and hands on evaluations.
  • Document student progresses.
  • Trains, monitors, and evaluates aviation maintenance HN students on conducting maintenance requirements, scheduled and non-scheduled,
  • inspections of aircraft and equipment conditions to ensure safety of flight compliance with technical directives, maintenance directives, and OSHA and Department of State regulations.
  • Provides on-the-spot instruction to maintenance personnel as necessary.
  • Within the scope of his aviation trainer duties, always ensures compliance with USG and Company workplace and aviation maintenance safety practices, to include FOD Control, Tool Room procedures and environmental safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience as licensed FAA Airframe and Power Plant mechanic.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a platform, hands-on Instructor in an aviation maintenance training program, school i.e. INLA program, USAALS, IAAFA, BAMC, and or Fort Rucker or other aviation maintenance trainer accredited school.
  • If no FAA A&P, in possession of an equivalent aircraft maintenance license, i.e. General Directorate for Civil Aviation DGAC for South America.
    Experience in courseware development for aircraft systems.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance management programs.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of hand tools, hardware, and equipment used in the maintenance of aircraft.
  • Must be fully knowledgeable of all requirements within the Technical Orders as they apply.
  • Must be able to interpret technical data.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Control programs, OSHA, and Department of State regulations.
  • Must have solid English and Spanish verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpretation skills for inspection duty, and an ability to analyze inspection findings.
  • Travel may be required on a periodic basis.
  • Spanish language proficiency level 2 required Able to speak and write in Spanish and English sufficiently to train and oversee Host National Police and Contractor Personnel to meet the conditions of the duties assigned.
  • Currently possess or can obtain a U.S. Passport.
