Aircraft Maintenance and Logistics Analyst

Wright Patterson AFB, OH (5 days on-site and 10% Travel)

Summary

Support a program office in defense acquisition and sustainment commands with lifecycle logistics planning and execution. Leverage logistics and maintenance expertise supporting aircraft, weapon systems, or Support Equipment (SE) programs. Conduct logistics, supportability, reliability, maintainability, and operational analyses and provide recommendations for tailoring, optimizing, and establishing logistics element requirements in support of aircraft, weapon systems, training, or SE programs. Provide recommendations for changes to site support, including maintenance planning, phased support, manpower and personnel requirements, initial provisioning and material support, SE, training and training devices, technical data packaging, handling, storage and transportation, and facilities. Provide recommendations for the development of Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Total Ownership Cost (TOC) management plans. Lead or support acquisition and sustainment project intake and triage using maintenance and failure data to identify high-impact reliability and maintainability candidates. Develop Business Case Analyses (BCAs), Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms), and logistics work packages to drive project execution and track benefits. Coordinate modernization programs with depot and field maintenance teams. Align provisioning, technical data, and training to support fleet-wide implementation. Collaborate with government, OEM, and cross-functional stakeholders to integrate schedules, funding profiles, and configuration management processes.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in acquisition, maintenance planning, sustainment, logistics support, supportability analysis, operational availability analysis, resource requirements analysis, and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)
  • Experience supporting program offices during acquisition milestones, such as MSA, TMRR, EMD, Production, Deployment, and O&S, including sustainment analyses and documentation
  • Experience analyzing and resolving sustainment issues, including DMSMS and RMQSI-related challenges, and participating in root-cause analysis for supply chain deficiencies
  • Experience collaborating with logistics and maintenance control organizations for requirements analysis, cost, schedule, and risk evaluation, life-cycle cost analysis, and advising and assisting in long-term weapon system supportability strategies aligned with acquisition goals
  • Experience providing technical and analytical support for depot activation, including software development and depot avionics testing and repair
  • Experience preparing and reviewing program documents such as ILSPs, LCSPs, Technical Orders and Manuals, RCMA, SLAs, MOAs/MOUs, SOOs, SOWs, PWSs, or eSSS
  • Experience assisting in obtaining logistics resources, participating in site surveys, and analyzing GFE or GFP, support equipment, life support, and demilitarization requirements. Maintaining and updating databases tracking Government Furnished Property (GFP) and depot and modification aircraft data files
  • Experience planning, developing, and managing affordable and effective systems support strategies for critical assets, insurance spares, tooling, and materials. Coordinating verification and delivery activities for technical data and equipment

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with DMSMS analyses and mitigation planning for legacy systems undergoing modernization

Education/Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in acquisition, maintenance planning, sustainment, logistics support, supportability analysis, operational availability analysis, or resource requirements analysis

Clearance Requirements

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, Secret clearance is required.
