Amentum is hiring a qualified Aircraft Logs and Records Technician in support of CFT MAG Okinawa, Japan.
Maintains aircraft and engine logbooks and associated records. Proficient performing all operator, data entry and retrieval functions associated with aircraft recordkeeping. Performs networking functions between individual stations, including analysis and correction of errors caused by software, hardware or data entry. Transmits and receives data via floppy disk, modem and other electronic means. Extracts data, formulates and interprets management reports, creates archives, backups, and data saves in support of military deployments and detachment operations. Performs a wide range of clerical and administrative duties related to aircraft maintenance, such as preparing reports and correspondence, filing and typing, performing data base and systems analysis.
Physical/Working Environment:
Requires shift work and a diversity of working conditions that may range from standard shop type environment where there may be no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes in temperature, direct sunlight, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work where high noise hazards prevail. Will be required to wear protective clothing and other safety equipment during periods of extreme hot and cold temperatures. Exposure to high intensity noise levels, extreme changes in temperature, materials identified on the Material Safety Data Sheets, working on or around aircraft and machinery. Aircraft flight line, hangars, and maintenance shops. Able to physically operate aircraft ground servicing equipment including vehicles, tugs, tractors, and high-pressure soap and water systems.
Minimum Requirements:
* Must have NACI Clearance.
* May be required to complete a SF-85/86 in EQIP as required to maintain possession of a CAC card. Unfavorable background check may result in termination if determination is made you are not eligible for a CAC card.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
* High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
* Four (4) years of job-related actual and recent organizational/depot-level aircraft maintenance experience required.
* Knowledgeable of governing supply systems/programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals or other established guidelines.
* Analytical ability to define problems, collect necessary data, establish facts, and to take recommended action based upon applicable established guidelines.
* Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.
* Ability to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
* Should be a self-motivator and work with minimum supervision.
* Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.
* Possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a government driving permit. (as required).
* Must be able to work all assigned shifts & schedules.
* Must have a US Passport.
* Must be able to speak, read and write English.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Previous experience as an Aircraft Logs and Records Technician supporting the U.S Marines.
