Joby Aviation is looking for talented mechanics, technicians, and fabricators to join our Final Integration and Assembly team. In this role, you will be trained to assemble all the parts, components, harnesses, avionics, interiors, landing gear, and systems into the final aircraft needed to prepare it for flight. Perform final mechanical, electrical, and structural integration and assembly of aircraft systems, including avionics, harnesses, interiors, and landing gear
Read, interpret, and execute build plans using complex engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions
Conduct pre-inspections of integrated assemblies to verify structural and system integrity prior to submitting work for final quality assurance inspection
Perform system testing, basic troubleshooting, and verification of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components
Collaborate closely with engineering and quality teams to support the transition of components from research & development to flight-worthy production parts
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace while documenting assembly steps and quality metrics in accordance with company manufacturing standards
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent relevant work experience
At least 2+ years of hands-on experience in aviation, aerospace, automotive, or R&D mechanical systems, including a solid general knowledge of vehicle assembly, maintenance, and repair
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
Familiarity with standard aircraft hardware, fasteners, torque values, and safety-wiring techniques
Experience working within robust quality assurance processes, with a demonstrated ability to identify high-quality work and pre-inspect assembly steps
Familiarity with and ability to identify all key components needed for complete mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical assemblies
Understanding of the different requirements for producing both flight-worthy production parts and research & development parts, respectively
Proven ability to work independently and multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Advanced understanding of production processes, test equipment, and hand/power tools
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $25-$39/hour.
