MinimumQualifications: Possession of thefollowingcertificates:FAAAirframe Technician’s CertificateorFCC General RadioCertificateand avalidClass-C Driver’s Licenseand fiveyears ofaerospaceindustryworkexperienceasanaircraftelectricianMilitaryexperiencemayqualifyinlieu ofFAAandFCCcertificates if the level ofworkand responsibilitywasequalto thatofanaircraftelectrician.
Knowledge andAbilitiesAircraftACand DCelectricalsystems, wiremarking standards;electrical wiringfabrication, installation, andrepair;electricalloadanalysisand wiresizing; electrical componentsincludingstarters,generators, voltageregulators, dimmingcontrols,transformer/rectifiers,inverters,frequencycontrollers;andFAA wiringandelectricalmaintenanceproceduresandpractices. Troubleshootdifficultelectricalsystemmalfunctions; determineand madenecessaryrepairs to electricalsystems andcomponents; designand fabricateelectrical wireharnessassemblies fornew installation ormajorrepair; designandproduceelectricalwiringschematics forfleetaircraftwiringmodificationand build up;makerepairs in accordancewithFAA-approved maintenancerequirements;and workcooperativelywith othermaintenance technicians in therepairand maintenanceofaircraft. May perform Confined Space Entry maintenance to includeaircraftfuel tank repairs.
** Expect approximately 5%-10%travel, including overnight stays, to fire bases throughout California**
Salary and Other Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is $59.03per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include [geography/market, skills, education,experienceand other qualifications of the successful candidate.
