Job Description

Aviation Recruitment experts Optime are excited to be recruiting for Airport Cleaners to join one of our well-respected and successful clients at Gatwick Airport. This job offers full time hours, overtime opportunities and an immediate start. This is a very enjoyable role with a great company providing fantastic working conditions and facilities.

What’s on offer:

  • Rate of Pay: £13.50 per hour.
  • Day Shifts available: 20:00 pm to 06:00 am - This may be subject to change, due to operational requirements.
  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday This may be subject to change, due to operational requirements.
  • Weekly Pay (every Friday).
  • Full training provided.
  • Temp to Perm (performance-based)
  • ASAP Start!


Key Duties:

  • Carry out internal and external cleaning of aircraft in line with airline and aviation safety standards.
  • Clean aircraft cabins including seats, tray tables, overhead lockers, toilets, galleys, windows, and flooring.
  • Perform exterior washing and polishing of aircraft surfaces using approved cleaning products and equipment.
  • Remove waste, debris, and hazardous materials safely and efficiently from aircraft cabins.
  • Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed within strict turnaround times to support operational schedules.
  • Follow all health & safety, COSHH, and airport security procedures at all times.
  • Operate cleaning machinery, pressure washers, vacuum cleaners, and access equipment safely.
  • Conduct visual inspections and report any aircraft damage, defects, or security concerns to supervisors immediately.
  • Work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced airside environment.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation to meet airline customer expectations.
  • Adhere to airside driving and ramp safety regulations where applicable.
  • Wear and maintain appropriate PPE and company uniform standards.
  • Support deep cleaning and specialist cleaning programmes as required.
  • Complete relevant cleaning records and documentation accurately.


Requirements:

  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Great work ethic.
  • Valid Passport or Driving Licence /Birth Certificate or National ID card.
  • UK Settled Status (If applicable).
  • Proof of National Insurance.
  • Proof of (current) Address.
  • 5 Year Address History.
  • 5 Year Work Reference History.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a basic criminal record check following interview in line with CAA requirements.
  • Previous airport and/or cleaning experience would be beneficial.

PLEASE NOTE: As this position is in the aviation industry, successful applicants must be able to provide 5-year checkable history.
