YOUR ROLE

The Air Import & Transport Supervisor based at Banksmeadow NSW is responsible for managing end-to-end air import and transport operations, ensuring the timely, compliant, and efficient delivery of freight.

Leading the import operations team and external transport providers, the role focuses on service excellence, operational performance, customer satisfaction, and the ongoing improvement of processes across the supply chain.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Specifically, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate national airfreight import operations, ensuring consistent execution of processes, SOPs, and service standards.
  • Drive service excellence by ensuring customer requirements are met, managing escalations, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, customer, and company requirements.
  • Oversee end-to-end air import operations, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of shipments from arrival through to delivery.
  • Monitor airline arrivals, cargo availability, customs and quarantine clearance status, and terminal operations to support efficient freight movement.
  • Coordinate transport planning and delivery allocation to optimise vehicle utilisation, service performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor operational and transport costs, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage operational exceptions, shipment delays, service issues, damages, and customer escalations to minimise disruption.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The ideal candidate is a proactive and highly organised transport and logistics professional with strong operational coordination skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment. You’ll also have:

  • Experience in air freight, ocean freight, freight forwarding or logistics operations
  • Strong understanding of customer service principles within the transport and logistics industry.
  • Ability to interpret and apply operational procedures, policies, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Experience reviewing, analysing and maintaining accurate operational and customer information.
  • Proven ability to contribute to projects, process improvements and business initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management, relationship-building, consultation and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
