YOUR ROLE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Air Import Coordinator to join our Air & Ocean team at Banksmeadow NSW. In this role, you’ll manage end-to-end inbound airfreight shipments from pre-alert to final invoicing. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with customs regulations, handling temperature-sensitive cargo, and supporting high service levels across the air import operation.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Specifically, you will:

  • Coordinate import shipments, including pre-alert capture, milestone updates, and documentation management
  • Liaise with airlines, handlers, brokers, and cartage providers to coordinate collections and deliveries
  • Prepare and lodge customs and biosecurity clearances and respond to inspections or holds
  • Manage billing, accruals, and cost verification to ensure timely financial closure
  • Handle healthcare and temperature-controlled shipments under GDP guidelines
  • Communicate proactively with overseas offices and customers on shipment progress
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain compliance with internal SOPs and external audit standards.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Our ideal candidate has at least two years' experience in airfreight import operations and a strong understanding of customs clearance and freight systems. You will also have:

  • Completion of Year 12 (vocational qualification in logistics desirable)
  • Proficiency in CargoWise including job control and P2P functions
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, ABF, DAFF, and airline ground handling procedures
  • Dangerous Goods Awareness and/or RACA screener accreditation (desirable)
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and communication skills
  • Exposure to healthcare or temperature-controlled cargo is advantageous.

In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
