The role

The Air Freight Supervisor will lead the daily operations of the export/import air freight department in the Philippines This role combines hands-on operational management with strategic oversight, ensuring service excellence, compliance with regulations, and achievement of business and financial objectives.

The Air Freight Supervisor will coach and develop the export/import team, manage key stakeholder relationships, and support the Head of Operations in executing business strategies.

Your Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise and lead the export/import air freight team, ensuring alignment with company policies and performance standards.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members to drive high performance and engagement.
  • Establish and implement departmental processes, KPIs, and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain strong relationships with airlines, overseas agents, customers, and key industry partners.
  • Promote a culture of service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

2. Operational Excellence

  • Oversee day-to-day air export/import operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure zero operational loss accounts through proactive monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Maintain and enhance quality standards for air freight operational procedures.
  • Support the sales team with quotations, RFQs, and rate negotiations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in air freight processes to support the team and resolve complex operational issues.

3. Financial & Administrative Management

  • Assist in achieving departmental budgets, revenue targets, and profitability goals.
  • Ensure accurate job costing, timely billing, and gross profit reporting.
  • Handle supplier and customer inquiries related to accounts, billing, and service delivery.
  • Coordinate collections, deliveries, and operational documentation.

4. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with internal codes of ethics, delegation of authority, and audit requirements.
  • Adhere to export controls, sanctions, anti-corruption, and data protection regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with Philippine Bureau of Customs (BOC) requirements and documentation standards.
  • Identify and mitigate operational and compliance risks.

5. Strategic & Business Support

  • Support the Head of Operations in executing national and regional air freight strategies.
  • Contribute to planning, forecasting, and resource allocation initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.

What we're looking for:

Education & Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (4-year), preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related fields

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in freight forwarding and logistics, with strong expertise in AIR export/import operations
  • At least 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of air freight processes, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with operational systems (familiarity with CargoWise - CCLP Certified Logistics Provider by WiseTech preferred).
  • Well-connected with airlines and familiar with the Philippine air freight industry.
