Job Description

The purpose of the Air Entanglement Operator is responsible for operating air entanglement machines (includes air entanglement processes of: conventional, tack-twist, and roto-jet) where materials are used in the production of carpet fibers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Place yarn packages on creel, checking against work order to verify correct yarn lots
  • Remove empty tubes from creel and determine if it is to be recycled through process or discarded
  • Load empty tubes in machine
  • Consistently watch lines for any quality issues
  • Remove completed packages of yarn from doff belt and pack yarn on buggies
  • Maintain standard clean and safe work environment

Performance Expectations (if applicable):

  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. up to 5 feet consistently throughout the shift.
  • Ability to carry a minimum of 20 lbs. up to a distance of 200 feet.
  • Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift.
  • Aptitude to pass a color vision test if needed

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be able to read and write and do basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
  • Computer knowledge or data entry skills are a necessary part of the job but will train.

Other Requirements:

  • Overtime is required on occasion.
  • All accidents must be reported immediately.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
  • Safety equipment must be worn as required.
  • Report to management any quality, safety, or potential problems encountered while performing the job.
  • Responsible for quality and safety of his/her own output.
