Job Description

The Welding Instructor is responsible for leading the welding courses during the camp program.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Under the supervision of the Camp Director, the welding instructor will teach general welding skills to 9th-12th grade campers
  2. Teach campers with a variety of learning styles and different levels of skill and ability
  3. Maintain equipment and supplies for the lessons, as necessary to support program area.
  4. Monitor safety and all procedures as they pertain to the complete supervision of all campers and staff.
  5. Help provide an atmosphere for developing good morale and wellbeing among the camp family.
  6. Embraces and supports the EAA mission and performs safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
  7. All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be thoroughly competent in the theory, practices, and skills of instruction and welding
  • Current CPR and first aid certifications
  • Pass a rigorous personal background check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical office setting. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Preparation for AirVenture or other events may require lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, standing and walking for extended periods of time while bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and push and pull motions.
