In this role, you will design and develop AI-enhanced systems that help security researchers navigate vast codebases, reason about intricate attack surfaces, and identify subtle weaknesses. Your systems will sit alongside and amplify the techniques the field already relies on: fuzzing, static and dynamic analysis, code review, and more. The scope is unusually broad, spanning the full stack: custom silicon and micro-architecture, boot ROMs, firmware, kernels, system frameworks, browsers, and user applications.
To keep Apple ahead of emerging techniques, you will track the state of the art in fundamental and applied AI, and translate the ideas that hold up into practical, production-grade security tools. Alongside security researchers, you will put those systems through real security evaluations, which is the only feedback signal that tells you what's actually landing.
As part of a fast-moving team, you will help build the software that lets Apple's products defend against advanced threats, strengthen critical security processes, and protect customers around the world. Experience scaling LLM training and fine-tuning (pretraining, SFT, alignment)
Strong enthusiasm for security
Familiarity with software‑analysis techniques such as fuzzing, static analysis, code‑analysis tooling, reverse engineering and binary-analysis
Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms (supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning) and evaluation methods
Hands-on experience with agents design and frameworks, including MCP/tools, observability, evaluations, and self-improvement loops
Strong software engineering and programming skills in languages like Python, C, C++, Swift and Objective-C
Collaborative and effective problem-solving and analytical skills
