What You Will Do

• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications that solve real-world problems across healthcare, government, energy, and enterprise environments.
• Develop and productionize LLMs, AI agents, retrieval systems, and reasoning workflows that automate complex manual processes.
• Build scalable data pipelines and machine learning systems that support high-performance production applications.
• Define evaluation frameworks, metrics, and testing methodologies that ensure AI systems deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Optimize model performance, reliability, latency, and operational efficiency across deployed systems.
• Work directly with customers, government stakeholders, and enterprise partners to understand requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Translate research advances into practical production systems that solve customer problems at scale.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, researchers, product teams, and leadership on high-priority initiatives.
• Contribute across the full product lifecycle, from problem definition and system design through deployment and monitoring.
• Help shape technical standards and engineering practices within a rapidly growing AI organization.

Ideal Background

• 3–10 years of software engineering, machine learning engineering, or applied AI experience.
• Strong Python programming skills with experience building and maintaining production applications.
• Proven experience deploying AI, LLM, RAG, or agent-based systems in production environments.
• Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals and model evaluation methodologies.
• Experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Demonstrated ability to connect technical work to measurable business or customer outcomes.
• Experience working cross-functionally with product, business, or customer stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Preferred

• Experience at high-growth AI startups or startup-like environments within larger organizations.
• Founding engineer, startup founder, or early-stage employee experience.
• Background at companies such as Glean, Harvey, Cognition, Runway, Cohere, Adept, Databricks, Perplexity, Hugging Face, Anyscale, Replit, Stripe, Airbnb, DoorDash, or similar organizations.
• Experience building AI agents, reasoning systems, retrieval architectures, or enterprise AI products.
• Familiarity with modern ML evaluation frameworks and experimentation methodologies.
• Experience working directly with enterprise customers or government organizations.
• Strong startup mindset with the ability to move quickly and operate with high ownership.
• Interest in applying AI to large-scale societal and operational challenges.

• Base salary: $200,000–$300,000.
