Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Metallurgist to join our team at PT Merdeka Battery Materials. As a Project Metallurgist, you will be responsible for overseeing all metallurgical aspects of our mining operations in Morowali, Sulawesi. Your main goal will be to ensure the efficient and effective extraction of minerals and metals from our ore deposits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement metallurgical test work programs to optimize mineral recovery and improve overall plant performance.
• Monitor and analyze plant data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as geology and mine planning, to ensure the smooth operation of the mining process.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the operations team, including training and mentoring junior staff.
• Stay updated with industry developments and advancements in metallurgical technology, and make recommendations for their implementation in our operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a mining environment.
• Strong knowledge of metallurgical processes, including AIM processing and its facility development projects.
• Experience with metallurgical test work and data analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work in a remote location and adapt to different cultural environments.
• Fluent in both English and Mandarin.
