Examples of duties

This role supports the therapeutic work of the hospital by assisting patients and learning essential caregiving skills. It is designed for individuals who want to grow into a compassionate and dependable caregiver.

As an Aide Trainee, you will perform the following duties:

  • Patient Support: Assist patients with daily needs and help maintain a calm and helpful environment
  • Care Learning: Develop new caregiving skills through guided instruction and hands-on practice
  • Team Participation: Work with staff to carry out treatment goals and support patient progress
  • Record Keeping: Maintain simple written information as directed by supervisors
  • Instruction Follow-Through: Carry out oral and written directions in an accurate and dependable way

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 1st shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM), 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM), or 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM), with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Works rotating days off, weekends and holidays. Every third weekend off.
  • May change based on operational needs.
  • Multiple positions may be filled from this posting.
  • Overtime: As needed.
  • Travel: As needed.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $38,411.00 (before taxes).

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • No previous experience needed, training provided.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
