Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AI Solutions Architect based in Canada.
This is a senior technical leadership role focused on shaping how AI is architected, deployed, and scaled across a diverse portfolio of software businesses. You will define enterprise AI architecture standards, reusable solution patterns, and technical frameworks that enable practical business transformation. Working with CEOs, product leaders, engineering teams, and AI specialists, you will translate business challenges into secure, scalable, and commercially viable AI solutions. The role combines hands-on AI expertise with architectural leadership, technical coaching, and cross-business influence. You will help accelerate product innovation, automate processes, and improve customer outcomes while maintaining strong governance and operational discipline. The position offers significant scope to establish an AI technical practice and influence a portfolio-wide technology roadmap.
Accountabilities:
- Define and maintain AI reference architecture, architectural principles, technical standards, and reusable solution patterns that align with existing software platforms and technology strategies.
- Evaluate enterprise AI platforms and technologies, recommend appropriate solutions, and develop reference implementations using leading AI tools.
- Establish engineering standards across the AI technology stack, including model evaluation, testing and validation, observability, performance monitoring, and version management.
- Embed AI coding agents, automated code review, and testing automation into software development workflows in accordance with AI-first engineering practices.
- Partner with AI teams and business stakeholders to translate business problems into practical, scalable, and commercially viable solution architectures.
- Guide product experts and engineering teams through solution discovery, delivery, and implementation.
- Integrate security, privacy, auditability, governance, and Responsible AI principles into AI solutions to support regulatory and customer requirements.
- Mentor engineering teams, AI specialists, and technical champions through workshops, architecture reviews, and ongoing technical coaching.
- Develop reusable AI Center of Excellence assets, including prompt libraries, reference architectures, templates, frameworks, and playbooks.
- Assess emerging AI technologies, lead proof-of-concept initiatives, and contribute to the AI technology roadmap and investment priorities.
- Balance innovation with architectural discipline and operational stability, escalating significant conflicts between technical standards and commercial delivery priorities when required.
- Establish and promote reusable AI components across multiple businesses to reduce duplicated development and accelerate adoption.
- Deliver measurable first-year outcomes, including adoption of the AI reference architecture and production piloting of a documented RAG or agentic AI pattern within the first 90 days.
Requirements:
- Senior-level experience in enterprise software architecture, solution architecture, software engineering, cloud platform leadership, or a related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience designing and delivering AI, machine learning, generative AI, or intelligent automation solutions.
- Proven experience integrating AI into enterprise or SaaS products and designing cloud-native, API-first architectures.
- Strong expertise in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI orchestration frameworks, prompt engineering, model evaluation, AI observability, AI security, and vector databases.
- Experience establishing reusable technical frameworks, architecture standards, governance practices, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience embedding AI coding agents, automated testing, and automated code-review capabilities into engineering workflows.
- Strong technical leadership, mentoring, systems-thinking, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Sound judgment and a pragmatic approach to balancing emerging technology opportunities with reliability, maintainability, security, and commercial delivery.
- Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to influence architectural decisions across multiple independent teams or business units.
- Curiosity about emerging AI technologies, a commitment to continuous learning, attention to detail, resilience under pressure, and a strong commitment to Responsible AI.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud is an asset.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Copilot ecosystem and OpenAI or Anthropic APIs is desirable.
- Experience with Semantic Kernel, LangChain, AutoGen, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or comparable AI orchestration technologies is highly regarded.
Benefits:
- Competitive compensation.
- Comprehensive benefits package.
- Flexible remote work arrangement within Canada, with the position based remotely in Alberta.
- Opportunity to work on enterprise-scale AI transformation initiatives across multiple software businesses.
- Significant autonomy and influence in establishing AI architecture standards and reusable technical practices.
- Opportunities to collaborate with senior business, product, engineering, and AI leaders.
- Exposure to emerging AI technologies and opportunities to lead proof-of-concept initiatives.
- Professional learning and development opportunities.
- Dynamic, entrepreneurial, and collaborative working environment.
- Opportunity to contribute directly to strategic AI initiatives and measurable business outcomes.
