Job Description

Imagine yourself…

  • Doing meaningful work that makes an everyday impact on the world around you
  • Growing your expertise and expanding your skillset with every project
  • Influencing responsible and meaningful use of AI across Veralto software development

At Veralto, our unifying purpose of Safeguarding the World’s Most Vital Resources™ is more than words: it’s a proven path towards positive change, improvement for our planet, and development for yourself.

As part of Veralto’s Water Quality segment, the work you’ll do will contribute to a safer world and a more sustainable future. In partnership with our Water Quality companies, you’ll help ensure that 3.4 billion people—over 40% of the world’s population—have safe drinking water every day.

And when you join Veralto’s vibrant global network of 13 operating companies and 17,000 associates, you join a unique culture and work environment where purpose meets possibility: where the work you do has an everyday impact on the resources and essentials we all rely on, and where you’ll have boundless opportunities to deepen your skillset, pursue your ambitions, and grow your career.

We offer:

  • Bonus/incentive pay
  • A flexible, remote-friendly work environment
  • Paid holidays and a permissive paid time off policy emphasizing flexibility and trust
  • Ongoing investment in your career through dedicated training, on-the-job development, and coaching

Reporting to the CTO, AI & Software, the AI Software Engineering Lead is responsible for accelerating the adoption of Artificial Intelligence across Veralto Water Quality software and firmware organizations.

This highly visible role will partner with software, firmware, architecture, product management, and R&D leaders across Water Quality operating companies to implement AI-driven engineering practices that improve speed, quality, innovation, and customer outcomes. You'll work directly with development teams, helping them modernize software delivery, introduce AI-assisted development workflows, and scale best practices across diverse technology stacks.

This position will be remote with a preference toward someone based in the Vancouver, B.C. area OR in the Loveland, CO area.

What You'll Do

  • Partner directly with engineering teams to implement AI-assisted software and firmware development practices.
  • Coach engineers on AI-assisted coding, testing, documentation, refactoring, and debugging.
  • Develop reusable AI engineering standards, prompt libraries, playbooks, and frameworks.
  • Lead workshops, hackathons, and technical bootcamps.
  • Evaluate emerging AI development technologies and coding agents.
  • Help modernize legacy systems through AI-enabled development approaches.
  • Establish KPIs that measure adoption, productivity, quality, and business impact.
  • Drive collaboration across multiple Water Quality operating companies.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 12 months you will:

  • Establish repeatable AI engineering standards.
  • Increase adoption of AI-enabled development workflows.
  • Improve development velocity and software quality.
  • Build a thriving engineering community of practice.
  • Create measurable business outcomes tied to AI adoption.

What You'll Bring (Requirements):

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience using AI development tools (GitHub CoPilot, Claude Code, Codex), large language models, agentic workflows, or AI-powered engineering platforms.
  • Experience developing commercial software products using modern programming languages such as C#, Python, Java, TypeScript, C++, or similar.
  • Experience with cloud-native platforms, SaaS applications, APIs, containers, and CI/CD environments.
  • Deep expertise in modern software development practices.

You would stand out if you also bring (Preferred Requirements):

  • Experience across both software and embedded/firmware development environments.
  • Experience with IoT solutions, industrial automation, instrumentation, or connected products.
  • Experience leading DevOps, platform engineering, architecture, or developer productivity initiatives.
  • Experience implementing organizational change management programs within technology teams.
  • Familiarity with water quality, environmental monitoring, laboratory, utility, compliance, or industrial technology markets.
  • Understanding of AI governance, security, privacy, and compliant AI development practices.

This role is a force multiplier for the Water Quality segment. Rather than being tied to a single product or operating company, the AI Software Engineering Leader acts as a hands-on technical catalyst, helping engineering teams adopt modern AI-enabled development practices, accelerating innovation, and creating a scalable framework for software excellence across Veralto Water Quality.
